Drumming
I recently decided to get back into drumming
I bought a book in elementary school in the late 1960's called
“The Underground Lightbulb”
Its first line was “I always wanted to be a drummer” and that describes me
BUT I have a slight obstacle; my legs are artificial below the knees
but that never stopped me, has it?
I just leave my feet on the pedals and anticipate the beat and lift them up just before it
Thirty years ago a friend let me try out his drums and said that I had some talent;
he then helped me get my first set of drums.
I played for about 7 years actually getting into a pick up band, but sadly left drumming behind
I ran into the lead singer of that band a few years ago and she commented that she thought I was a good drummer; and more recently my Church's drummer and his wife have been nagging me to give it a try again.
So, I finally decided "what the heck" and am about to get back into drumming
I live in a condo so Electronic Drums are the only way to go
My dilemma at this point is
Do I buy a really cheap kit, just to get back into practice and buy a good kit later?
Or
Do I realize I am not a beginner and wait to get a good set I will be satisfied with?
I dont have a lot to spend at this point so I am leaning towards a cheap kit
but a used Roland kit is what I have read that would really be best for me;
and might be worth waiting for
