In September I wrote in this blog about my desire to return to drumming
and spoke of a dilemma about what I should buy as an Electronic Kit
In order to get some suggestions I joined an Electronic Drum Forum
to see what others were playing and what kit would be good for a "Returning Drummer"
While looking over the forum I noticed one member had a Scripture reference next to his name
and a picture of a Flaming G Clef that really caught my eye
I started up an online conversation with him and over the course of several months
it grew into a friendship where we would discuss not only drums but our shared Faith
During this time I realized due to my employment situation and recent hospitalization
I really did not have any spare funds at all to put towards getting a drum kit
He told me he was going to go through his accumulated Drum Stuff
and see what he could find to send me; to get me started on a kit
A few weeks later he contacted me and said that he had found enough equipment
to send me not just a piece or two, but to provide me with an entire Drum Kit for Free
Because the components of this kit were acoustic drums he had carefully converted himself
the set would not be a simple beginners kit but close to professional grade
Furthermore when I asked him about shipping and offered to help him with the cost
he informed me that his church was going to cover the cost of sending it to me
This Christmas I am experiencing a situation beyond my imagination
where I am receiving "More than I could Ask or Think" Eph 3:20
So, like in the story of the "Little Drummer Boy"
I think that I will be playing for HIM
