A VETERAN HONORED
Harold Lundberg's Military Records apparrently were destroyed, along with thousands of others,
in a fire at the St Louis Records Center in 1973
I remember asking him about his service in WWII and the only substantial comment he made was that
"Hearing the Sound of a German "88" cannon REALLY was Frightening"
Harold died a week ago and his family wanted him buried in a Veterans Cemetery
but they had never been able to find or obtain any record of his service at all
A day after his death some family friends took on the task of going through boxes of family records
and they located Harold's Discharge Papers and a Unit Patch
Harold A. Lundberg not only was a WWII Veteran,
but he served in the Famed "Hell on Wheels" 2nd Armored Division part of General Pattons 3rd Army
Today Harold was Buried with Full Military Honors at the National Veterans' Cemetery in Bourne MA
