It was just a Hubcap
Driving along a narrow snowy road one day it fell off
when I "might" have clipped a snowbank
Of course I stopped
But the road conditions, a tight schedule, and my lack of mobility
made a thorough search of the Snowbank Futile
So, I drove off and thought about it every time I passed the spot
knowing that it was lost to the elements or to roadside scavengers
Until two years later as I drove by I noticed a metallic object at the woods edge
I stopped just for Grins and there it was, as if it had been waiting for me
I threw it in the trunk and when I got home I put it beside the house
So, I could clean it up to put back on my naked rim
A few days later I went outside and it was Gone
When I asked my Dad what had happened to it
He replied it looked like it was Junk
and so he had put it out for yesterdays Trash Pickup
It was just a Hubcap
